Over the last couple of years we have been developing a link with the Watir Ali Primary School which is in the village of Botergaw, Bangladeshi. Botergaw is in the Sylheti region of Banglasdesh and many of our families have relatives who still live in the area.
We are using this link to develop children’s understanding of different parts of the world and the similarities and differences between them. We have sent them photographs of the area of St James and some of the activities our children may engage in. In return we have had pictures from children at the Watir Ali School to share.
We have held a mufti day to raise money to help connect electricity to the school and enable fans to be put up and make conditions more pleasant in the hot months.
