Welcome to St James Church of England Primary School
Thank you for visiting our website.
St James Church of England Primary School is a happy and ambitious school. We are situated in an interesting part of Northampton, a short walk from Franklin’s Gardens, home of Northampton Saints Rugby Club, and a slightly longer walk from Sixfields leisure area and home of 'The Cobblers', Northampton Town Football Club. The school was built in 2006. It offers fantastic accommodation for our 14 classes and Nursery, with ample playing fields and outdoor spaces.
Understandably, sport is important to us, but so are academic progress and achievement. Most importantly we believe children deserve to be happy at school, have lots of opportunities to develop as people and become rounded and mature individuals by the time they leave us at 11 years old. Children need to be able to read and write and have good mathematical skills if they are to do well, but they also need to be able to manage their own learning, communicate easily and make the right choices about their behaviour.
The local community is very mixed and we reflect this in school. Our families come from many countries and speak a wide range of languages at home. St James is a Church of England academy in the Peterborough Diocese Education Trust, but many of our families and pupils come from non-Christian backgrounds. We believe faith to be important, as we respect each other and learn together.
Please enjoy learning about our school and contact us if you would like any further information. Our telephone number is 01604 751475, and either Emma Bending or Jo Prickett will be happy to answer your questions. Alternatively contact Jo Prickett on firstname.lastname@example.org.
