Normally, our school calendar would be full of arrangements for Christmas but we have delayed making decisions about some of these activities whilst we plan how they can happen in line with Covid restrictions. We are now in a position to let you know some details:
Ideally, Christmas cards should only be sent between children in the SAME bubble (i.e. the same year group). Class teachers will arrange the delivery within their classes. Cards to children or staff outside the bubble will be collected by the school office and quarantined for 72 hours before being delivered.
Christmas Craft Day & Christmas Jumper Day – Friday 27th November
This is next Friday. Normally, we would ask for lots of parent helpers to work in mixed classes but sadly, this year, we cannot invite you in. We will stay in our bubbles but create decorations for the whole school. We will post lots of pictures on Twitter to show you the results!
Please wear a Christmas Jumper on this day and bring in a donation for Save the Children.
Sadly, we are unable to perform Nativities to an audience this year. However, Reception will be filming their nativity play and the rest of the school will be filming a Carol Concert with all classes performing in their bubbles. In addition, our Year 5 Soundstart Concert will be filmed and shared with parents. These videos will be distributed to all parents via a secure Youtube link. The videos will NOT be posted on a public platform. If you have previously said that you do not want your child to be on social media, you can override this instruction for this one instance. School will be in touch to see if this would be your choice.
Christmas Dinner – Wednesday 16th December
This is as normal. Please book your hot dinner (meat, vegetarian or Halal) by Friday 11th December. Please note, there is NO alternative meal options available on that day but children can still bring in their own packed lunch if they would prefer. If you have already booked a meal for this day, you will need to go on to ParentPay and rebook.
Christmas Party Day – Thursday 17th December
This is a full day this year (instead of the traditional half day) so please come dressed in party clothes! School will provide party food so there is NO need to bring in a packed lunch, order a cooked lunch or bring in party food unless you have a specific dietary requirement
Last Day of Term – Friday 18th December – 1:30pm
The last day of term is Friday 18th December and school closes at 1:30pm.
