School closure

Dear parents, carers and staff,

The government have just announced that all schools will close from the end of the day on Friday. However, schools are expected to stay open for vulnerable children (those with a social worker or an EHCP) and for children of key workers (for example those with parents who work in the NHS)

At the moment we have no further details on this and I do not know which jobs qualify as a 'key worker' so I am unable to give you further details at the moment. If you believe that you are in this category and you would want to continue sending your child to school, please reply to the school office on office@stjames.northants.sch.uk and someone will be in touch with you tomorrow.

For everyone else, your class teacher will be in touch early next week with work suggestions for you to complete at home. They will stay in regular touch via email.

We are unsure about the provision of lunches for children who are eligible for Free School Meals but we are hoping that the government will continue to fund this and we will be able to offer a 'take away' service from school for all eligible children.

I will be in touch as soon as I know more. In the meantime, school is still open for all children on Thursday and Friday.
